We technically met in middle school. From there, Jamie had moved and we didn’t see each other again until high school. We had a short period of “dating” but it didn’t last long and we remained friends. Jamie would stay at Taylor’s house for weekends at a time, countless dinners, day trips, camping, adventures, etc. They were always constants in eachothers lives. In 2016 Jamie was in FL. He would call Taylor (A LOT). She would pick him up from the airport when he returned to MD and they picked right back up. Spending almost every day (and a lot of nights) together, talking nonstop and just being who they were for each other. Taylor always joked that he should realize that they should be together and he would just laugh. It really was just joking. In 2017, Jamie texted Taylor saying he had something important to talk to her about..He finally came over and they sat outside and he went on to tell her how he had been thinking about it a lot and finally felt like he could give her and her kids what they deserved and he had been wanting to be with her for a long time but wanted to be in a better place first. Tay was shocked. Surprised. Possibly screaming on the inside but said “okay, so like, we’re doing this..?” He said yes and got ready to leave. They hugged and right before he left he punched her in the arm and said “alright then, buddy..I will see you later..” (I know..what a mess) Since then there has been even more great times, hard times, sad times and everything in between. What they thought would be easy - turned out to be pretty hard. It took a few tries to get it right. Four kids, two houses, two dogs, a pandemic and countless adventures. Christmas Eve 2021, Jamie proposed! Tay honestly thought it was a joke and he wasn’t serious. Alas, here we are! Planning and getting ready to celebrate a huge milestone in what started off as a harmless high school friendship.
