I have titled this Divine Romance, simply because it has been such. -July 2022. I (Dawson) had just received a text from my co-worker, asking if I wanted to come to her sister's going away party. Her sister was going on a 5 month mission trip, something that I had been apart of 2 years previously. The day was a rainy one, so I checked the calendar, and told my coworker I would stop by. I arrived and talked with some people, making my way to the grass where spike ball was being played. As I was watching, the ball came flying my way. This girl that was getting ready to leave on this mission trip, just stopped and started talking with me, forgetting all together the game that she was in. She said "Hi, My name is Sarah." I left that conversation taken aback. Who was this Girl? After that moment I did not see her a whole lot, and she left for her trip. But that one encounter I had with her, caused me to pray for her. My prayer every night for her was 2 Thessalonians 3:1-5, I would recommend reading it. If you want to have a heart for something, start praying for it. I prayed for her everyday, this simple prayer as she was gone following Jesus. During this trip I (Sarah) had amazing moments with God. My relationship with him grew in ways I never thought it could. There were moments however, when I would randomly think about this guy I met on that day in July. I decided to just surrender it to God every time the thought came. I arrived back home that same year in December, and heard from my family about all of the fun times they had hanging out with this guy Dawson. That's right. I (Dawson) started hanging out with her family while she was gone on her trip. In anyway possible I would ask them, "how's Sarah doing?" However. When Sarah had arrived back home I was being led by God to move to Florida. I made my way to Florida, content that if this was God, he would do it, through and through. 6 months passed by, and throughout that time, Sarah was still continually on my mind. I decided to send her a text asking how she is doing... She responded. It sparked a little conversation. Trying to spread it out, I would wait to send the text back. These elongated conversations gradually led to a crescendo moment. -August 2023 Let me explain... I told my little brother about Sarah one August day. I was reading this book called "The Robe," that made me think of her extra that day. Sebastian made a deal with me, if he landed this scooter trick I have to call her August 21st and tell her how I feel. Well... He landed that trick. That August 21st day rolled around, and we talked on the phone. Finally sharing with each other the ways we felt. I told her, "I am going out there in October, maybe we can meet up?" She said "Yes definitely!" From August to October, questions were asked. To each other, and most assuredly to God. We really had no possible idea how this was going to work, but we understood early that God had been working this together from the start. -October 2023 October came quick, and I texted her, "I'll be there soon." I rolled up to her school in my dads truck, and picked her up. We went to the grocery store, got a rotisserie chicken, the best chocolate chip cookie, and made our way to the beach. We walked along the beach that night, and the truth hit the both of us. All of this. How we got to this moment right now, was anything but our doing. It was as if God began something, and was faithful to finish it. We embarked on an Adventure. For two years, we FaceTimed for hours, sent letters back and forth, got really really cheap plane tickets to see each other for the weekend. When together, not a second was ever wasted or a moment not completely conscious of. The two years of long distance was a blessing in so many ways, and we knew if God be for us, who could be against us. -March 2026 A sunny Saturday day we were exploring Lake Tahoe, we made our way to Kiva Beach. There I had the honor to ask my love to marry me.
