Wedding Party

The Party People

Katie Ritter

Maid of Honor

Katie is Sarah's cousin by blood but sister by heart. Being born only three months apart, they grew up together and share many fond memories of sleepovers at their grandma's house, lamenting on being only-daughters, and creating embarrassing fan dubs of Fruits Basket. Katie is creative, intelligent, loyal to her friends and family, and Sarah loves her very much.

Jennifer Carlson

Bridesmaid

Sarah and Jennifer met in chorus back in 2010, where they decided they were "twins" despite looking nothing alike. This twin-bond included trips to the mall, learning harmonies for what they called "hallway songs," and of course - coordinating outfits. Nowadays Jenn and Sarah have replaced these activities with coffee dates and farmers markets, and Sarah deeply appreciates their talks on life and stress-free friendship.

Shannon Clarke

Bridesmaid

Sarah & Shannon met in 2007 when they both were placed in the same German class & became close when they discovered they shared a similar circle of friends. Through the years Sarah & Shannon have enjoyed many adventures to Tiki openings, theatre performances, concerts, movies, and long drives with long conversations. Sarah appreciates Shannon's reliability & that she is always there to lend an ear (and a parent, when needed.)

Candice Keiser

Bridesmaid

Sarah and Candice met in high school in 2008 and share many memories of karaoke nights, sweet frog dates, knitting together and dreaming of the "old-lady house" they plan to share one day. Sarah and Candice have seen each other through many life-changes, and though they don't get the opportunity to get together very often, Sarah loves Candice and appreciates how they pick right back up no matter how busy life gets, the mark of a true friendship.

Amanda LePore Colyer

Bridesmaid

Sarah & Amanda met in 2006 in the trenches of Middle School & through the years they formed the kind of friendship that often brought on surprise text messages of: “Hey I’m in your house, come downstairs.” Sarah & Amanda share a love of the Arts & besides normal hangouts, have had many adventures of concerts, performing in plays & film, karaoke competitions, modeling, & hosting their own local radio shows. Beyond the appreciation Sarah has for their friendship, Amanda played a big role in getting Sam & Sarah together, so Sarah is grateful to have her beloved friend with her on their wedding day.

Tia LePore

Bridesmaid

Sarah and Tia met in 2006 when Tia would tag along on her sister Amanda’s hangouts with Sarah at the neighborhood pool, where Tia coined Sarah as her “Part-Time Sister.” Sarah and Tia continue to enjoy their pool time and share additional memories of hangouts at the LePore house, concerts, and shopping trips. Tia is creative, kind, helpful, and Sarah appreciates the levity Tia can bring to any situation with her sense of humor and uncorrected typos. Through the 18 years they have known each other, Sarah and Tia’s relationship has grown into a friendship in it’s own right, and Sarah loves Tia as a Full-Time Sister.

Jack Dawson

Best Man

Sam’s brother, whose multifaceted role as companion/adversary/antagonist throughout childhood would grow and develop into a strong and rewarding friendship. Now, rather than getting thrown into a suitcase or buried in the yard, Jack buys Sam Szechuan food and discusses politics/the Simpsons, a substantial upgrade.

Dylan Colyer

Groomsman

Dylan entered Sam's life as a minor bully. Antics aside, Dylan and Sam shared a mutual interest in current events and airsoft in high school. Fast forward a few years, and Dylan helped secure Sam an interview with the software team they both currently work for, while Dylan’s wife Amanda introduced Sam and Sarah. Dylan is the most important force in getting Sam out of his parents basement, which makes up for the time he tricked Sam into going up in front of everyone during a 9th grade assembly by mistake.

Will Clark

Groomsman

Going away to South Carolina for college was exciting, yet at times disorientating. Enter Will, who’s initial allegiance may have been purchased through a strategic shipment of Honey-Crisp apples (thanks Mom), yet became one of Sam’s most steadfast allies and friends in those early months. Rooming together the following year, and becoming musical collaborators and advocates, Will was a huge part in making Furman feel like a home away from home.

Pearson Fowler

Groomsman

From the outset of Freshman year at Furman, it was not clear that Sam and Pearson would have much in common; Pearson was athletic and extroverted, while Sam cloistered himself inside on the computer all day. As it turns out, Pearson is also a giant nerd, and the two formed a strong bond over a mutual appreciation of Tolkein, Rush, and film, which the two consult endlessly over text to this day.

Evan Pratt

Groomsman

As a close friend of Jack’s from 5th grade onwards, Evan entered Sam’s life as a second, more intense older brother, just in time for onset of angsty adolescence (fun). Turmoiltous teen years nonetheless yielded incredibly memorable sleepovers and LAN parties, and in time Evan grew to be a warm and welcome presence, no longer using Sam as a guinea pig for modified high-velocity nerf guns.

Nick Zidzik

Groomsman

Nick and Sam first became acquainted in 8th grade gym, drawn together by each other’s mutual awkward scrawniness. Solid friends throughout highschool, their friendship would deepen through college and graduation, becoming fellow travelers in the initial stumbles and trials of early adulthood. Sam counts Nick among his closest conspirators, sharing passions for food, music, and terribly dubbed anime from the 1980s.
