We first heard of each other through one of Emily's roommates in college, who knew Cole from her hometown. It was Cole's first year at the University of Kentucky and we didn't meet in person until a random October night when we bumped into each other at a Halloween party. After that, Cole had to work hard for a first date but I'm so glad he stayed persistent because we instantly clicked. We started hanging out regularly, enjoying lots of study, movie, and ice cream dates. In 2017 we started dating... 5 years and 2 dogs later, here we are planning a wedding!

Two days after Emily's 24th birthday, Cole made an unexpected stop at the Louisville botanical gardens on our way to a special birthday lunch. We were in the middle of changing jobs, moving to Charlotte, NC and visiting family so a proposal wasn't even on Emily's radar. When I saw a path of rose petals and candles, Cole got down on one knee and of course I said "YES"! He even coordinated everything with my friend Sarah who came from hours away to hide in the bushes and capture the moment. It was such a special day, and one we will never forget! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you.
