We met at a Halloween party in 2023. Camila was already there when Dawson showed up. On his way through the house, Dawson spied a cowgirl in the kitchen and, in his head, thought, "Great, there is a cute girl here tonight!" Minutes after arriving, Mario (the owner of the house) came up to Dawson and said, "Hey man, follow me." Mario took Dawson directly to the cute cowgirl and made introductions. He then proceeded to say, "I left my sprinkler running outside. Let me go check it." Six hours of aguardiente, dancing, and getting unofficially married by Luis dressed like a priest really made an impact on the two of us. The next morning was the first official date. A casual Starbucks date that lasted for 3 hours. Camila had to drive back to Lubbock that day but "didn't want to leave yet and drive back through the rain", so the two of us went next door to see some of the only plants in Midland (Claydesta Center - Dawson's office at the time). Camila then invited Dawson to her sister's birthday party a few days later. Dawson went and met her family and friends and tried traditional Colombian food for the first time. The next time the two of us would see each other was when Dawson surprised Camila on her trip to Vegas. At the urging of Gustavo and Laura during a golf tournament with a few Fireballs being thrown around, Dawson booked a trip to Vegas to surprise Camila. Camila and the friend group were flying from Midland to Vegas with a connection in Houston Friday morning. Dawson already had a trip to Houston booked, so on his way to the airport he called his mom and told her that there was a change of plans for the weekend. He was no longer going to be able to take part in Friday night steak night because he was going to Vegas with a girl. Dawson booked the same flight Camila was going to be on from Houston to Vegas and was at her gate when the plane landed from Midland. She played it cool when she saw him at the gate, and he was worried he went too far out on the limb, but a few minutes later, she was sleeping on his shoulder on the way to Vegas. Our relationship got off to a hot start and we haven't looked back. Every day we find out more things about each other and grow closer. We are excited for what our future holds!
