At the beginning of the fall semester last year, Dawson was looking for people to play on an ultimate frisbee team to avenge his intramural frisbee team's loss in the playoffs the previous year. Aubrey hadn't played frisbee before, but Dawson knew her from Challenge and was advised by a Challenge staff member to put her on the team. So in the fall at a Christian Challenge event, Dawson asked Aubrey to play on his frisbee team. She agreed despite her lack of experience. Throughout the frisbee season, Aubrey began to hang out more with Dawson and his group of friends. As Dawson and Aubrey got to know each other better, they saw how much they enjoyed spending time together as well as their common interests. They each admired how the other genuinely cared for those around them. After their intramural frisbee team lost in the playoffs, Dawson took the risk and asked Aubrey on a date. Their first date was at a coffee place (Dawson didn't like coffee at the time), and it was clear from the beginning that they fit well together. In the next week or so, they played mini golf (and tied), walked around Wildcat Creek, and at Tuttle Creek State Park, they decided they were officially dating. Throughout their relationship, Aubrey and Dawson have been amazed at how naturally their lives fit together. From the very beginning, their friends, family, and future plans all seemed to align. As Aubrey and Dawson have been able to become more part of each others' lives, they've seen the Gospel displayed clearly in one another and are eager to see how God continues to work in their lives and the lives of those around them in this season of engagement as well as their marriage.
