Dawn's Version: It was the Summer after my Sophomore year of college at Dillard University in New Orleans, Louisiana. A group of friends invited me to go with them to a military softball game at the Military Base on the West Bank. I had nothing to do after class, so I accepted the offer. It was a super hot day. The game ended, and all I wanted to do was leave and go back to campus and enjoy air conditioning again. It was so hot I couldn't tell you who was playing or who won. The heat was miserable and very distracting. The next day a friend told me a guy playing in the game asked who I was. Even though I had no idea who or which player it was, I took a huge risk and told her to go ahead and give the guy my phone number. The guy was Jamell. Fast forward 20 years later, and here we are getting married in Viva Las Vegas. You could have never told me 20 years ago while sitting at that HOT softball game a person there would be my future husband.
