We are staying in downtown San Diego. But Chula Vista is a short drive from Imperial Beach and San Diego so it is also a good area location wise to stay, and more affordable than Imperial Beach or other San Diego towns.
Flight
San Diego International Airport aka Lindbergh Field
This is the closest and most convenient airport to fly into. There is also some airlines that fly into CLD Carlsbad San Diego airport. It is about 35 miles North of San Diego. So there would be a longer drive into San Diego from there.
