Three Keys At Ace Hotel New Orleans
The Ace Hotel has a lively lobby with an intimate jazz lounge. This is one of our favorite spaces for live music and great conversation with friends. The calendar on their website is updated regularly.
Deanie's Seafood Restaurant in the French Quarter
Deanie's is our favorite for classic fried seafood. It's the absolute best and the portions are HUGE!! We never pass through without a stop at Deanie's.
NOLA Caye
Nola Caye is a cute spot off the beaten path for salad, seafood, and fresh Nola fare. The food is delicious!
Cafe Du Monde French Market
Nola's famous beignets! The market is outside and stays busy. The coffee and beignets are great and there's usually a live band playing in front.
Cafe Beignet on Royal Street
Another beignet hot spot. The shop is tiny but the beignets are awesome!
The Jazz Playhouse
This is in the Royal Sonesta Hotel. It's very popular.
Whitney Plantation Tour
Though somber, this was one of the most moving experiences I've ever had. It is powerful, educational, and deeply impactful.
Studio Be
Huge Black-owned warehouse art gallery. Deeply moving, phenomenal work by local artists. You will need to take a car service there, but it's well worth the trip.
Fritzel's European Jazz Pub
Great jazz pretty much all day and evening. Hole in the wall, small tables, cheap drinks in plastic cups.
Mahogany Jazz Hall
Lie jazz every night, in the Quarter.
Maison Bourbon
Live authentic jazz every night and right on Bourbon street. Great hole in the wall. One of our faves.

Bands and entertainment nightly on Frenchmen Street. We've never been but good reviews.
Nice Guys Nola
Outside of the Quarter, newer and trendy spot. Younger vibe.
New Orleans Creole Cookery
When it's good, it's great but it is rather hit or miss. We still go from time to time.
The Spotted Cat Music Club
Music genre varies greatly, but a great spot. Frenchmen Street is an eclectic collection of bars and hangouts. As with most places, a whole different vibe at night.
Manning's
Owned by the Mannings, food is good and reliable. The vibe is all-American, not unique to New Orleans at all.
Ruby Slipper Cafe
Reknown breakfast spot, several locations in the Quarter. Huge portion sizes.
