November 10th, 2015 - The night Dawn and Aaron matched on Tinder. It was a chill Tuesday night in Champaign, Ilinois. Dawn was watching the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, while Aaron was at the Ihotel preparing for the next day's game. Little did they know, their “swipe right” would’ve turned into their beautiful love story. After “super liking” each other, Aaron decided to make the first move by sliding into Dawn’s DM. One thing led to another, and they found themselves getting dinner at Chili’s (because broke college students don’t pass up a 2 for $20). Once Aaron realized that Dawn was worth more than a 2 for $20, he finally took her on an official date that was a little more romantic. Ever since that night, the rest is history.

A few months prior to the proposal, a photographer who they had worked with before, reached out to Dawn asking if her and Aaron would be interested in doing a photoshoot at Horseshoe Bend in Arizona. Dawn of course said yes, and Selena, the photographer, filled her in on all the details. The day of the photoshoot finally came, and Dawn and Aaron made the five-hour drive to Horseshoe Bend. They were 30 minutes into the shoot when people started to turn their attention to the couple. Selena then had them do a specific pose, and that’s when Aaron got down on one knee. He was the one who had it all planned in order to make this day very special!

Many of you may not know, but Dawn and Aaron specifically chose this date for a reason. It marks 7 years exactly, to when they made their relationship official. On January 8th, 2023 the couple will be together 7 years to the day. The number 7 stands for completeness and perfection. They waited until 2023 because in true Jordan fashion, 23 only made sense.
