It's a one mile hike up to the top of a hill that overlooks the entire Eugene - Springfield area.
Saturday market is downtown Eugene. It's like an artisan fair once a week on saturday morning. There are people selling all kinds of artwork: ceramics, wood carving, candles, jewelries, clothes, food...And you'll always see interesting fashion.
Alton Baker Park is in Eugene near the Willamette River. No real playground equipment, but it has a placid water canal where fish and ducks swim. There are lots of walking paths along the canal and bigger river. There is a bridge for walking over the river. There is a large pond with stepping stones out to an island. There is a disc golf course and large grassy areas where you can just spread out a blanket and picnic.
Valley River Mall is the premier indoor mall in the area. It has lots of stores and food court. It also has Round 1 - an arcade, bowling alley, pool tables, ping pong, games...
The beautiful Oregon Coast is an easy hour and half from Eugene to Florence, where you can head north on historic Hwy 101 and explore famously beautiful spots Heceta Head Lighthouse, Sea lion caves, Devel's Churn, Cape Perpetua lookout.
