Matthew swiped right and asked Tiffany on a date on Tinder. After learning about Tiffany's recent travels in Japan and Matthew's plans for adventurous trips to the Rocky Mountains, they decidedly hit it off.

During a Christmas holiday to Austin, Texas, Tiffany's family pulled out its karaoke machine. Tiffany knew she was in love when Matthew sang his heart out for a Christmas love ballad. Around Valentine’s Day, Tiffany invited Matthew to the Lawton Philharmonic Orchestra. Matthew knew he was in love when they ran to the local theater in his tie and her heels to listen to Tchaikovsky.

Matthew's Air Force career awarded him a promotion to Major. During his promotion ceremony, Matthew walked into the middle of the room, gifted Tiffany with flowers, and surprised her by dropping to one knee. Tiffany happily accepted and snuggly placed the ring on her finger.
