We've decided to move ahead with our wedding day on July 3, 2021. As of this April, we've been waiting 999 days to get married... and yes, we have been counting! We understand that not everyone will be comfortable attending, but we hope most of you will be able to safely celebrate with us. We will be following all state and CDC health guidelines. Invitations are forthcoming, please respond as soon as you're able.
Brian and I met online via OkCupid. Neither of us had much faith in online dating, but were encouraged by family and friends to try it. After talking for what seemed like months (it was about three weeks), Brian FINALLY asked to meet in person. Though I was anxiously waiting for him to ask me out, by the time the day came around I was incredibly paranoid. Special thanks to my sister who sent me a creepy meme just hours before! I talked him down from dinner to meeting up for drinks at a place I knew well (and had plenty of escape routes lol), Hightopps Bar and Grill. We ended up hitting it off, and discovering that we had both gone to school in Reisterstown and had a lot of the same hangouts growing up. We most likely were at the Cow, Sportsman's Hall, or the Sacred Heart playground at the same time. We ended the night with a kiss about seven hours of chitchat later. We were each other's first and only dates from online dating... the rest is history <3
On the second anniversary of our first date Brian and I set off on a European adventure. We opted for a tour of that covered England, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland. On the fourth day of our trip we arrived in Edinburgh, Scotland. Myself a castle enthusiast and Brian a whisky drinker we were stoked to be in Scotland's medieval capital. We started our day exploring the ins and outs of Edinburgh Castle. Next up Brian had the Scotch Whisky Experience whilst I sipped on some Highland cream liqueur. We stopped for lunch at The World's End pub for much needed carbs post whisky, before walking down the Royal Mile to Holyrood Castle. Having an obsession with female monarchs, especially Mary Queen of Scots, it was a dream come true to explore Holyrood Castle and Gardens. After a few excursions (we got hopelessly lost) we headed back to our hotel to freshen up and take a rest. An hour later we were hiking up Calton Hill to overlook Edinburgh's skyline and Arthur's Seat. We made our way down to the observatory where Brian asked me to frame up a very specific photograph. When I turned around, Brian was on one knee.... and I ....blacked out for a few seconds. I'm told I asked "what're you doing" in response to seeing him down there and I assume that I said yes because I have a ring on my left ring finger! We made our way back to Edinburgh Castle for pictures and had a celebratory dinner at the Boozy Cow. And so our happily ever after began.
