In January of 2024 I started working at a nursing home in Graceville MN to decide if nursing was the career for me, little did I know at the time that job would lead me to meeting the sweetest, kindest, and most genuine person I ever met. I did not meet Elizabeth until June 15th when Elizabeth's mom (also my coworker at the time) texted me asking for advice about blisters from running since Elizabeth was training for a half marathon and had blisters. After texting with her mom she asked if I was ok with her giving my number to Elizabeth in case she had other questions about training for a half marathon. That evening I got a text from Elizabeth introducing herself and thanking me for the advice I gave. From that day we kept talking and getting to know each other better, until on June 20th Elizabeth and I FaceTimed for the first time. When I first saw her and talked with her, she had the prettiest smile and most infectious laugh. We talked and texted more, growing closer and closer until I asked her out on a date on July 1st to Common Cup, a coffee shop in Morris. After that date it didn't take me long to ask Elizabeth if she wanted to be my girlfriend on July 6th. Elizabeth and I have spent our entire relationship in two different towns, I was living in Morris MN working at a nursing home, and Elizabeth living in Brookings SD finishing Grad School to become an LMFT, about two hours away from each other. Even with the distance we grew closer and closer together talking on the phone almost every single day. On the weekends I didn't have to work, one of us would make the trip to spend the weekend together. Our daily phone calls quickly became my favorite part of the day. I knew that Elizabeth was a once in a lifetime girl and she was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. After dating for 180 days on January 1st 2025 we got engaged. We are both beyond excited to get married and be in the same town as each other and instead of calling everyday to talk about our days we can talk about our days in person. Elizabeth is a compassionate, amazing, kind hearted, and incredibly caring person. Elizabeth is the most beautiful woman in the world and the light of my life, I cannot wait to marry her.
