Located in the heart of the city, this church rivals Europe's neo-gothic cathedrals. Enjoy the architecture and art of the church or explore around the city center. This church can also be viewed from many rooftop bars and restaurants throughout the city.
Hike though the botanical garden that holds varying cacti and plants local to the region. (Don't forget your sunscreen!)
Dj and I have enjoyed exploring ancient ruins all over Mexico. Just outside of San Miguel de Allende, we recommend visiting one of our favorites. Canada de la Virgen are ancient Mesoamerican ruins constructed in 540 AD. If you have never been to a pyramid before, this is the best place to start as it is peaceful and does not attract many visitors. (Hike level- moderate)
Explore the artisanal market for a souvenir or two! An amazing place to explore.
For a spa getaway, la Gruta are hot springs with thermal baths, and the perfect place to get a massage and zen out.
If learning about a city's history is your thing, we recommend visiting this museum. San Miguel is often called the heart of Mexico and has important roots to Mexico's independence. Igancio de Allende (who the town is named after) was a revolutionary hero to Mexico during the Spanish separation.
