We're so excited to share the story of us - that began somewhat unexpectedly but grew into an incredible adventure we're thrilled to continue together. Our journey started back in 2019, at a wedding, no less! It seems fate has a sense of humor, bringing two hearts together in a setting where love was already in the air. Kara, was involved with someone else at the time. Mike, ever the optimist, left the door open for the possibility of they paths crossing again. As Mike's luck would have it they reconnected at a house warming a few months later. Having learned of their entangled group of friends. It seemed to be that our story was just getting started. Despite Kara's initial reservations of entering a new relationship, searching for reasons why it might not work, Mike proved to be everything she needed. His presence and actions, seemingly tailored to what she truly sought. Demonstrating that sometimes, the right person comes along precisely when we least expect it. Just weeks after we started dating the world around us decided to put us through the greatest test we could have ever imagined. The pandemic hit, and life as we knew it changed overnight. But within that chaos, we found our calm in each other. Just weeks after our first date, we found ourselves living together. This brought us closer in ways we couldn't have imagined. We became partners in every sense of the word, sharing our daily life with enthusiasm. Every day was an opportunity for a new adventure. From road tripping to Texas during the Pandemic to savoring the simple pleasures of countless days in Wisconsin, each journey brought us closer, weaving our lives together with shared memories. As the world began to inch its way back to what we once knew as "normal," our shared dreams and aspirations of building a life together were swiftly becoming a reality. With the love and unwavering support of our friends and family, December of 2021 marked the beginning of a new chapter for us as we moved into our house. Over the next two years, what were once four empty walls transformed into a home brimming with love, laughter, and countless memories. Throughout this time, our conversations increasingly centered on a future together, our deepening bond and shared vision of a life side by side. It was on a seemingly ordinary Wednesday morning, June 21st, that Mike decided it was the perfect day to propose. There was something about that day that felt right, a serendipitous alignment of timing and emotion. Choosing the back deck of our home for the proposal was intentional, knowing it would forever hold the memory of where Kara said "yes." Mike understood how much she cherished sentimental details, and his proposal was rich with them. He presented three dozen roses, each dozen symbolizing a year of our journey together, on the 21st day of the month, resonating with Kara's fondness for the number "7". The date also coincided with the summer solstice, making it the longest day of the year, a beautiful metaphor for a lifetime together stretched out before us. But the sentiment didn't end there. Mike handed Kara a handwritten note detailing the exact moment he knew he wanted to spend his life with her, years ago, accompanied by the receipt from the dinner they shared on that significant evening.
