Ashley and Chris met in the summer of 2023. At the time, Chris was stationed at West Point, while Ashley was working as a Registered Nurse in NYC. Now, Ashley will admit—she was a little hesitant about going on a date with someone who lived so far from the city. After all, she thought even a trip to Brooklyn felt like a long-distance relationship, let alone an hour-long train ride to West Point! Thankfully, distance didn’t get in the way. After their first date at American Bar in Greenwich Village, it was clear they had something special. Their relationship took a big leap forward when Ashley made the bold decision to leave Manhattan and move in with Chris at West Point. After nearly 14 years in “The City That Never Sleeps,” she traded skyscrapers for a military base. If that’s not love, what is!? On New Year's Eve, while celebrating at The Homestead Resort and Spa with Chris’s family, Chris pulled off the ultimate surprise. In the middle of a 1920s-themed New Year's party, just as Ashley turned around expecting a midnight kiss, she instead found Chris down on one knee—proposing! Fast forward to today, and their adventure continues! Chris, Ashley, and Lucy (Ashley’s very large and very loved Bernese Mountain Dog) recently relocated to Ithaca, NY, where Chris is pursuing his MBA at Cornell University. While Chris spends most of his time in business school lectures or studying in the library, Ashley is embracing the work-from-home lifestyle. She continues her career as a Registered Nurse, now working remotely and seeing her patients virtually—a big change of pace from the busy hospitals of NYC! Meanwhile, Lucy is living her best life. She was arguably the most excited to leave the noisy city behind and start a new chapter in Ithaca. Her bond with Chris has completely flourished, she knows exactly when he’s due home from class and eagerly awaits by the door to greet him with plenty of kisses. She’s also proudly accepted her new role as Ashley’s most loyal coworker, taking her duties as “Nurse Assistant” very seriously and rarely leaving Ashley’s side. Chris and Ashley are so excited to begin this next chapter together and can’t wait to celebrate with you in November!
