We're getting married, and we'd love to have you!

It all started in the summer of 2022, with a bold Bumble opener from Brantley: “What’s your go-to karaoke song?” Davis, naturally, replied with confidence (and zero expectation that this would be a foreshadowing moment) with the song Sixteen Tons by Tennessee Ford, a song he had mastered singing in his many years of singing in various choirs. Fast forward to their first date at Red Lion, a beloved, Elvis-themed Birmingham dive bar, and Davis—joined by a very “enthusiastic” (drunk) couple—serenaded the room with “Sweet Caroline.” A bold move. A memorable moment. And somehow, not a deal-breaker! (all props to Brantley for that ;) Brantley's best friend Kaitlyn tagged along for the couple's first two dates, just in case anything went awry, but after that, Brantley and Davis agreed to fly solo--and they haven't looked back since. Davis is the type of person who’s never met a stranger. He’s an open book, an incredible listener, and an unwavering encourager. To Brantley, he is both cheerleader and calm in the chaos—her safe space. Brantley brings the energy—driven, organized, always three steps ahead. Together, they’re the balance neither knew they were missing: the perfect blend of enthusiastic spontaneity and structured 5-Year plan. They say love finds you when you least expect it. In this case, it found them in a hole-in-the-wall bar, with Neil Diamond playing in the background, and it has since turned into a forever kind of love.

Like all great love stories, this one almost got derailed by a work meeting. Brantley had no clue what was coming, so when a last-minute meeting popped up and ran long, she figured she was just having a typical Friday—not unknowingly cutting into a very elaborate plan with months in the making on Davis's part. When she finally left the office, she was met with a bottle of prosecco, her sister Shelby, and a card telling her to get ready and head to Red Lion—the very bar where it all began. There, her best friend Kaitlyn (who was also present on date #1&2) handed her the next clue in what turned out to be a surprise scavenger hunt across Birmingham. Grace, Brantley's best friend from college, delivered the final clue, and it finally dawned on her: this was actually happening. Naturally, she made everyone detour to her apartment so she could change into something “proposal appropriate” (we know Brantley). Now running fashionably late, the group headed to the final stop: the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. There, waiting in a suit and tie among the flowers, was Davis, anxiously waiting, doing his best to remember if he had included a note in the first note to wear something "cute" for this little adventure (he had). Once the group got there and Brantley walked into the beautiful, blooming garden, the moment was everything—joyful, emotional, and a slight blur (thankfully, a photographer was there to catch it all, thanks to Davis!). However, the celebrations didn’t stop there. Davis had also organized and gathered friends and family for a surprise engagement party that night, which of course ended exactly where it all began: with drinks and laughter at Red Lion. It was thoughtful, personal, a little chaotic, and perfectly them.

November 2025 — We closed on our first house in Ft. Lauderdale! February 28th, 2026 — The big day 2026 — Move in together
