After growing up in neighboring seaside towns & attending the same high school, Alia & Davis found themselves neighbors once again in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 2013. Alia was "working as a waitress (bartender) at a cocktail (local beer) bar, when Davis met her". A budding beer aficionado, he was impressed with her knowledge of the subject & asked her out. When she suggested Christopher's, a to-this-day favorite of Davis', he knew this could work. She was intrigued by the forces at play that had brought the loved ones in each of their lives together. Both of their mothers, Linda & Joelene, were yoga teachers & Linda connected Joelene to her first teaching opportunity. Now, his sister Kayma, who was currently working at Joelene's yoga studio was about to move into a house in Encinitas, California that Alia's brother, Dorian was calling home. The date went well, Davis was charming in his light pink t-shirt, intelligent & driven in his new found passion for biomedical research, & he could always make her laugh. When he shared the news that he was leaving in a few weeks to pursue a Master's Degree in Iowa, it seemed this might end as quickly as it started. A few months later, Davis returned to his father's home for Christmas & came up to see Alia in Boston. Little did they know, a polar vortex was about to turn Davis's one day trip into a five day stay. The forced time together brought them closer & they remained in touch ever since. Flash forward 8 years, Davis & Alia have shared many new beginnings together, moving from Cambridge, MA to Lexington, KY, and onto Rochester, MN. They've learned to love & support each other as they've progressed in their careers and through challenging times of separation & loss. They love their family & friends dearly and LOOK FORWARD TO CELEBRATING THEIR WEDDING WITH EACH OF YOU!
