Aeryn and Davis met at Cloud County Community College during dorm move-in day in August of 2021. Davis was moving in for his freshman year with his parents, while Aeryn was helping students as the RA in charge of the floor. Their first meeting wasn’t exactly memorable, but over the next few weeks, they kept crossing paths through dorm events and quick introductions. At the time, Davis had a habit of finding creative ways to entertain himself, often through lighthearted pranks around the dorms, many of which involved his RA, Aeryn. While not all of them landed the way he hoped, they definitely made him hard to ignore. Things really shifted one day when Davis tried to jokingly get Aeryn’s attention by pretending to break into her car. What was meant to be harmless quickly turned into a moment of panic when the door actually opened. Realizing he had unintentionally crossed a line, he immediately owned up to it and offered to bring her a Sonic drink as an apology. When he returned, Aeryn was in the middle of a full-on craft tornado and tried to keep him from seeing the chaos. Of course, Davis found this amusing and attempted to make his way inside anyway. In the process, the newly purchased drink ended up getting crushed between them, spilling everywhere. Fully expecting a lecture, Davis was caught off guard when Aeryn laughed instead. The two cleaned up the mess together, and somewhere in that moment, something shifted. What started as an apology turned into the beginning of a crush, at least for Davis. Over the next few weeks, he found more and more reasons to be around, often joining Aeryn and her friends whenever he could. Meanwhile, Aeryn was completely unaware, assuming he was interested in one of her friends instead. That changed one night after spending time with their friend group at the mall. As they said goodnight and were heading their separate ways, Davis called Aeryn’s name. When she turned around, he kissed her on the cheek, said goodnight, and quickly disappeared into his room, leaving her completely surprised. From that moment on, they were practically inseparable.
