We created this wedding website as an information guide for our upcoming nuptials in Philadelphia on October 17, 2019. Here you’ll find hotel accommodations, travel recommendations, registry information, and a little bit about our love story. We also included suggested things to do in the local area. We have some extra events happening throughout the week, so don’t forget to RSVP your attendance for each one. We are SO incredibly excited to share this special day with some of our favorite people – a big thanks for all of your love and support. See you in Philly! P.S. Don’t forget to use our hashtag #Davis15yrluvstory Luv Michael and Tinasha
So we actually had a few interactions with each other before having a genuine conversation. We were initially introduced to each other in 2004 at Mike’s God sister (Jenien) birthday party. We have two versions of this part of the story. My recollection is that I thought he was cute, but he seemed more interested in his God sister’s friend. He begs to differ. We later went on a church shopping trip to New York City and this is where he attempted to talk to me but I was uninterested. It wasn’t until our encounter at a youth church function where we exchanged a conversation filled with smiles and laughter. So a couple days later, I get a phone call from Jenien asking me about Mike and if I called him. Mind you we were teenagers, I vaguely stated I liked him and that we had nothing in common (But, I knew I REALLY liked him). Anyway, I told her I couldn't call him because I didn’t have his phone number. She told me to check my pockets and surprise, surprise; I find Mike’s handwritten number on a piece of paper (I was blushing on the inside). Funny thing is that he and Jenien planned to call me on a 3-way so he could listen to my responses about her inquiries. I nervously called him and that one call turned into fifteen years, two proms, two kids, two homes, one dog and countless first together. On October 17, 2004 he asked if I would be his girl and I said yes. Now on October 17, 2019 after 15 years, I plan to say I DO! #Davis15yrLuvStory
It all started at my God Sister, Jenien, 16th birthday party earlier that year. She introduced me to Tinasha and it was love in the making! No it was wasn’t love at first sight but the seed was planted. That summer we crossed paths during two separate occasions. First was a church shopping trip in NYC. That’s when I realized I needed more time to reel her in. The second date was a youth event. This was where she was vibing with the Davis charm. I was a shy guy though, so even though I knew I was in the game, I was too shy to tell her I like her or wanted her number. That day my Aunt Adrienne told me, “Now or never Mike, this your last chance”. She was right, so I hid my phone number in her bag and hoped it would eventually catch her attention. It didn’t. So eventually I called my God Sister Jenien to call Tinasha while I was on mute listening to see if she liked me. She didn't think we had anything in common. It didn’t stop me though! I was determined to make her my girl, my date for prom! I ended up with more than what I asked for. After a few dates like the haunted house on Broad St at the Spectrum, movies, and lunch dates, led to an evening on 10/16/04. With SEPTA being our Uber, we waited for the El heading West. While waiting I decided to go for the first major step at that age, a kiss. Fireworks everywhere! The people that seen that kiss, they knew they me and her were meant to be. But Tinasha and I still were not an "item”. Once we both got home, we talked before going to sleep. Reminiscing on the day and the time being spent since the summer. “Do want you to be my girl?” “Yes”. I looked at the time and realized it was a little after midnight, 10/17/04. Since then, it’s been one heck of a roller coaster. With the good and bad, gains and losses, two beautiful daughters, a dog named Bella. 15 years of a continuous evolving friendship, relationship, and partnership, we decided to tie the knot on 10/17/19 where it all started, Philly! #Davis15yrLuvStory
