Derek likes to tell the story of how we met with "I was wearing Daisy Dukes and she had a black eye". Well, he's not wrong. But, he didn't have the guts to talk to me that day at softball. However, I did ask my roommate Courtney about the cute guy with Tyrel. It wasn't until a few (6) months later that he got stuck talking to me at Sahara while our roommates were bowling. And that was it, we've barely spent a day apart since :)

It might not be a surprise to some that Derek had to work to win Renee over.... so how DID he do it? Well, he must have previously asked Renee what her favorite Disney movie was, it was Beauty and the Beast. A week or so later Renee was sitting at home in her living room when she heard the doorbell ring. She got to the front door just in time to see a man running off. Upon opening the door, she saw a rose display in a glass case with a note that read "Plug it in and let it light up your world".

The first time I laid my eyes on her I knew she was the one. The way she looks at me shows how much of a lovable, caring, funny person she is. I like to live a life full of laughter and she brings just that.
