Our favorite place for brunch or dinner! Great home-brewed beer selection.
A wonderful little garden to walk around, free to enter, with a reflecting pool outside. Right in the center of the Balboa Park Cultural Center.
Cute garden to walk around in. Small entrance fee.
One of the best zoos in the US. We've had a membership for quite a few years and regularly spend a day there. It's big enough that it'll be tough to see everything in one day, so plan your route to see your priorities.
A small little park with a monument, some benches, and fantastic views of the city!
A great beach with lots of little shops around, including some with rentals for snorkeling gear, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards. There's tours that go out to the caves in the coastline. You might even get to see some seals!
The Bay is large and has a lot to do, including surfboard/wetsuit/paddleboard rentals, beaches, and parks. Also in the area is Sea World and Belmont Park, the latter of which is a little boardwalk-type area with a wooden rollercoaster, carnival rides, an arcade, and a bunch of little shops.
A cool park with a nice hike from the woods down to the beach on a well-kept trail. Park up the hill after paying an entrance fee and hike down to the beach, or park at the bottom of the hill and enjoy the beach. Also has some tide-pools a little down the road.
