We're Getting Married!

Our paths crossed at our first optometry school outing at Axelrad in Houston. We exchanged good conversation and beers. ***cue the sparks*** Shortly after, Karina sent Gabriel a message asking if he had had his required eye exam by a student doctor. She vented about being lost in the parking lot, fully dilated at night after hours of being practiced on, unable to find her car. Gabriel, surprised to see her message, responded right away and we haven’t stopped talking ever since. Our love grew as we studied endlessly, became dog parents to our baby Gigi, and became doctors. It has been a great journey so far and we can't wait to spend the rest of our lives together!

It was a crisp, cool morning in the city of Paris. It was our first day exploring the city and we were rushing to our tour of the Eiffel tower. We climbed the tower, enjoyed cheese and wine on the lawn, and went home to rest. We returned that night to watch the Eiffel tower twinkle. As we crossed the Trocadero Plaza, Gabriel gripped Karina's hand tightly. The lights twinkled on the hour, and we enjoyed the view. Gabriel then took Karina down to one of the less crowded areas of the plaza. He turned to her and began to reminisce on all of our favorite memories. He then said "Baby, can I ask you something?" He got down on one knee and asked her "Will you marry me?" She cried out "Yes!" The crowd around us clapped and cheered as we embraced the moment.
