Come visit the distillery and taste the best rum (in our totally unbiased opinion)! Try one (or more) of the delicious hand crafted cocktails offered in the lounge. Manteo is a social district, so grab a cocktail to-go and walk downtown to check out the rest of the adorable town.
North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island
We love the aquarium! A great place to visit while in Manteo. The sea turtle rehabilitation center, sting ray touch tank, and the jellyfish room are some of our favorite exhibits. Reservations required!
Manteo Historic Candlelight Walking Tour
Manteo is full of history and this evening walking tour is a great way to learn all about it! The tour will touch on things such as The Lost Colony, The Underground Railroad, Pirates, The Wright Brothers, and Andy Griffith.

Elizabethan Gardens
Manteo’s botanical garden is a wonderful spot for a stroll and features seasonal blooms, a bronze statue of Queen Elizabeth I, and views of the Roanoke Sound. Visit the website for a list of blooming plants and flowers in October.
Festival Park
The Bluegrass Island Music Festival is taking place the same weekend of the wedding. I know we have a few bluegrass fans coming to the wedding, here is the link in case you are interested in one day tickets!
