When we first met, we never exchanged names. Monica had, surprisingly (LOL), shown up late to a Theology on Tap (TOT) young adult event the same night that Jordan decided to attend his first TOT. (Monica insists she had actually gotten there early, but had to make one last bathroom stop before the event started, so she walked in late.) (Jordan decided to let her have the final word.) Since Jordan didn't know anyone, he sat in the first seat he found. Since Monica was late, she had to squeeze in at one of the tables and didn't have a chair. Jordan happened to be nearby and noticed her standing and offered to give her his chair. She declined and they never spoke again. The end. ;) Fast forward a few months, Monica and Jordan met again at a Catholic Beer Club event at Pumphouse in downtown Wichita. Jordan was at a table with a few friends, while Monica was asking everyone if they country danced, trying to get people to go to Club Rodeo with her the upcoming weekend. Monica approached the table Jordan was sitting at and asked him if country danced, to which he replied "no". However, Jordan wouldn't let that be the last time they spoke. By the end of the night, Jordan had made a bet with Monica that if she came to a Wednesday night volleyball, then he would go to Rodeo with her group. Although volleyball did not sound as much fun to Monica as dancing, she was intrigued enough by the offer to accept. The next Wednesday night volleyball, Monica made her appearance and Jordan was now in debt to attend a night of dancing at Club Rodeo. At rodeo, Jordan asked Monica to dance and Monica realized he was better at dancing than she expected. Jordan realized dancing with Monica could maybe be fun. Thus continued the unexpected connection between Jordan & Monica . . . and the rest is history. We are so excited to continue our love story through marriage! Thank-you for celebrating our special day with us. We want to be sure to give credit to Byron Bergkamp, Steven Hammersky, and Malerie Davied, who all had a role in laying the groundwork for Jordan's well-placed bet. :)
