If you want to plan a longer stay in Florida, there are so many things to do both in Fort Lauderdale and nearby.
In Fort Lauderdale, a trip to the beach is always perfect and the weather in December averages about 77 degrees. Pompano Beach is our favorite nearby beach.
Fort Lauderdale offers a variety of other types of activities such as visiting museums and taking a sightseeing cruise.
The shopping options are terrific such as on Las Olas Boulevard, a popular shopping and entertainment area, or the Coral Ridge Mall.
You might also consider visiting the Museum of Discovery and Science, the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, or taking a Riverwalk tour.
The Florida Keys are about 90 minutes away.
The beaches of Fort Meyers, Sanibel Island, and Naples are between two and three hours away.
