Dana had recently moved to Washington, DC earlier in the year and was trying to expand her social network, so signed up for a community Shabbat dinner at the local JCC in DC. She walked in with her good friend and immediately David ran up to them to ask where they were sitting (even though the seating was pre-assigned). According to David, he walked into the room and immediately decided he had to sit near Dana. After dinner a group went out to socialize a little more and Dana mentioned how she missed her trivia crew back in Pittsburgh, PA. David, knowing that he didn't love going to trivia night, told Dana that he loved going to trivia night and was looking for a new crew and asked for her number. While Dana was somewhat oblivious to David's intentions, she obliged and welcomed him to join. Though they didn't continue going to trivia together, they found they had a shared love of traveling, completing challenging hikes, reading a good book, and staying active.
