Han Yang is less than 10 minutes from our venue and is our favorite Korean restaurant in Orange County. (Probably will be yours too...) Literally everything on the menu is delicious, but we especially love their Kalbi Tang, Donkatsu, and Gondere(?) Rice!
Our new favorite soondooboo "joint".
Ohshima is a 15-20 minute drive deeper into OC from our area, but their sushi will blow your minddddd... I brought David here on his birthday, and since then, we've been recommending it to everyone we know. It looks like nothing from the outside, but it's treasure! They have a daily, half hour reservation window from 5 - 5:30 pm, so make sure to call two+ weeks ahead of time. They also don't accommodate parties larger than 6 people, so we'd recommend going in groups of 4 or less. And try the omakase if it's your first time! Note: You may have to call anywhere from 5-99 times. Don't give up!! And good luck!
Katsu-Udon, Katsu-Soba, Katsu-Roll combos!!! + They are always playing ABBA.
For iced lattes, almond croissants, and bngz.
This Cuban bakery-restaurant is always packed, but it's so worth!! Their more popular pastries are their cheese rolls, guava & cheese refugiado, and potato balls. I personally go there for their mariquitas and cakes.
We come here often to watch Korean movies with subtitles (for me.. heh). They also play the current, popular American films. David never lets me get the popcorn (special Korean delicious popcorns!!), because we usually go after dinner and he's mean and healthy, but you definitely should!
My favorite shabu shabu place in the area! If you go during dinner, their veggies and NOODLES are AYCE. I love their noodles and soojebee...
The best pho I've ever had was in Philly, but Sup is a modern take on pho and worth trying! Sounds weird, but their Lomo Saltado is delicious too!
Try their Tea Trio! I like it with the Roast Beef Sandwich, Cesar Salad, and Road to Hana- sweetened and with soy milk. There are some other restaurants right around there as well- Rialto and Brownstone for brunch, Green Bliss if you're vegan, and Burger Parlor for their burgers (but especially their cereal milkshakes~).
If it's your first time, get a pita! It comes with the best fries... and make sure to try their baklava froyo for dessert!
Our favorite AYCE BBQ!! Get the Premium AYCE, and make sure to try the Woobaesal and the Nookgansal. The wait is always long, so it's good to go during off hours or weekdays.
This one's for you, YJ Cho.
