David decided to make a profile online and start this online dating thing. It had been almost 20 years since he had been on a date and all his friends said this is how people date now. Vickie had tried this before and decided to put her profile up to look for friendship and someone to go dancing with- it was time to swing baby! While swiping David found this spicy, little red-head with a retro style. Vickie received a message from an upbeat rockabilly. A few emails, a few phone calls later, and it was a first date. Vickie decided to give this this guy a chance. After a wonderful meal at a dinner theater, dueling pianos next door, and lots of laughs and kisses- here we are in love and can't wait to be married. It truly is love.

It was November 24, 2017 and David's daughter Annessa was visiting. David, Vickie, and Annessa decided to go to Disneyland for the day. What Vickie didn't know was Disneyland really was going to be the most magical place on earth that day. David stealthily hid the ring in his backpack, Annessa had been keeping the secret, and Vickie had no idea. Once getting to security the security guard asks David to open his backpack- he tries to give the security guard a clue there is a ring in the pocket but she doesn't understand. Annessa sees what is happening and goes up to Vickie and starts dancing with her in the aisle and they both giggle. Once to the gates Vickie said "let's go to Calfornia Adventure." David and Annessa had a plan in play and Annessa says "I want my picture taken in front of the flowers at Disneyland." Vickie says "The line is so long." David says, "It's ok, come on...there are always lines." Another crisis averted! After standing in line the photographer and Annessa start snapping pictures of Vickie, David, and Annessa. David says "can we take a few more?' Down on one knee David goes and proposes...Vickie is in tears and of course says yes. Annessa videotaped the entire proposal. Their Disney buttons for the day said "Engaged, November 24,2017, Vickie & David." Annessa's said. "I planned it all."

Since David and Vickie met they have had a quiet running joke about flying pigs. Yes, everyone, flying pigs! On one particular date David told Vickie that one day she would marry him and she said "maybe when pigs fly." David said "well, I will make pigs fly.". Thrifting one day they stumbled upon a statue of pig with wings that continues to sit in David's office. On their first vacation together they were thrift shopping and happened to stumble across a shop called "The Flying Pig"- David, gave Vickie a look and said, "see pigs fly." A few shops later and look another flying pig sitting happily on a shelf- it must be bought! This pig now sits in Vickie's house. The OC Fair comes and Vickie notices a picture with multiple airborne smiling pigs, this must be had! Pigs are starting to fly! After these moments they would find signs or stores where there would be small flying pigs, eventually it became a hunt for flying porcine prizes. David continued to say- "see the signs are there, pigs fly, one day we will be married". Vickie would smile, knowing this was true. Then the proposal came and although they were at the happiest place on earth and the only animal David could make fly was an elephant, they both knew somewhere a small little pig was happily flying looking down on them.
