FAQs

If you have any questions other than those listed here, please reach out to Karyn Griffin at douglasgriffin7@comcast.net.
Question

Where are the ceremony and reception?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will both be on the second floor of The Napoleon House (500 Chartres Street) in the French Quarter. Please arrive by 4:45 pm, as the ceremony will begin promptly at 5 pm.

Question

Does The Napoleon House have an elevator?

Answer

No. The Napoleon House is a 200-year-old historic landmark and does not have an elevator or wheelchair accessibility to the second floor. The only way to access the second floor is via the stairs. If you need help getting up or down the stairs, please contact someone in the wedding party in advance.

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

No. Due to space limitations, we will not be able to accommodate children at our wedding.

Question

When is the RSVP date?

Answer

Please RSVP using the link on this website by Saturday, February 15, 2025.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code is formal. Gentlemen - a suit and tie. Ladies - a cocktail dress of any length or a dressy pantsuit. Comfortable shoes are HIGHLY recommended, as a second line parade will follow the ceremony.

Question

What is a second line and how should I prepare?

Answer

Second lines are a tradition among New Orleans weddings where guests follow the newly weds and a brass band on a parade through the French Quarter. Our second line will be .5 miles (approximately 20 minutes). Your shoes for the evening should be comfortable enough to walk half a mile and then dance the night away. If it looks like it may rain, please bring an umbrella.

Question

Is there a welcome party?

Answer

Yes! Everyone is invited to the Welcome Party on Friday, March 28, 2025 from 7-9 pm at the Crescent City Brewhouse (527 Decatur Street), the only microbrewery in the French Quarter. Appetizers and desserts will be served along with coffee, craft beer, and a full bar. Please join us on the second floor. An elevator is available.

Question

How do I get around New Orleans?

Answer

The best ways to get around New Orleans are by foot, rideshare, or public transportation. Hotel parking is expensive (generally, $40 a night and up). For getting to and from the airport, Uber/Lyft are available 24/7. Barring a surge, it usually costs $45 one way. Taxis are also available ($36 for 2 ppl and $15 for every add’l person). Once you're in the French Quarter, walking is the best way to explore the neighborhood. If you want to access another part of the city, ridesharing or the streetcar are the best ways to get there.
