Yuliya and David’s journey is full of twists and turns but the most important part is that they found their way back to each other. One can say that they are high school sweethearts as their journey began in high school. The first time they met was when David was a junior and Yuliya was a freshman but it wasn’t till the following year when they realized there was a spark between them. During David’s senior year, the two of them had the same lunch schedule but still sat on opposite ends of the room. Though there were some years between them, it didn’t stop them from constantly sneaking a look across the cafeteria to find each other’s gaze. Yuliya thought she was being sneaky by going to the snack line every day that was right next to David’s table and buying her favorite chocolate chip cookie, just so she can sneak in a conversation with David. But David had his own flirtatious agenda and sometimes would steal Yuliya’s cookie! Every day Yuliya stood in the cookie line, looked at David and thought to herself, “One day you’re going to marry me; you just don’t know it yet!” Unfortunately, Yuliya’s plans hit a speed bump because David left for Portland for a few years. Fast forward to four years later, Yuliya was working at TJmaxx and saw a very tall broad-shouldered man that looked a whole lot like David. Her heart was racing and she panicked, shouted “Hi!“ and quickly ran away between the aisles. David was very confused because all he saw was a bun running threw the clothing, but he just knew that voice came from someone special. From that day on, Tjmaxx became David’s favorite place to visit. It took David a month of trips to Tjmaxx, a lengthy credit card statement, and a whole lot of convincing to finally take Yuliya out on a date. By the third date David just knew she was the one. David told her "I'm going to marry you", to which she said "You don't even know me, what are you talking about!” Little did they know this was going to be the adventure of a lifetime! Four years later, David attempted (and succeed) into tricking Yuliya into thinking every date they had in the month of October, was going to be the proposal. As they were kayaking in Princeton, or flying over NYC, or numerous romantic dinners, he would say "How do you know I'm not going to propose?" Finally when she was no longer expecting it, on November 7th, David took Yuliya to a lunch on the beach. As they were sitting at the table Yuliya got cold and asked David for his jacket… David’s face turned white as a ghost as he very firmly questioned “WHYY?”. Yuliya had no idea that his pocket was holding the most important piece of jewelry she would ever receive from him— the engagement ring! As they made their way to the beach, Yuliya's favorite place on earth, David gave her a gift; a photo album with picture memories of all their adventures and memories from the previous year. As she got to the last page, it said "Turn Around".... and the rest is history! Now Yuliya and David are beginning a new adventure filled with lots of love and happiness! Yuliya and David shared six years of memories so far and are moments away from walking down the aisle to commit to one another for the rest of their lives, as best friends and life partners, to create more memories, and paint their life story together. Mostly importantly they can’t wait to share their special day with you!
