It was Labor Day weekend 2017 and we were at a mutual friend's graduation party. That morning Trish had broken her ankle at the gym (almost not going to the party because of it) and strolled in gracefully with her crutches. David's eyes were (shockingly) on the college football game on TV (Alabama vs. Florida State +9.5...yes of course he remembers) until the wobbly red head walked in and caught his eye. They spent most of the night together getting to know each other. Once the party ended, David offered to drive Trish home in his fresh car (Grandma Awilda's old Matrix) in the pouring rain. Like the gentleman he is, he walked her to the front door, but with the crutches she needed some help up the stairs. Lucky for David there were Trish's parents at the top of the stairs...meeting the girl and her parent's on the same night, every guy's dream come true. After that day, the rest is history and now here we are getting married!
David was on Long Island for the weekend and while he was doing a fantasy baseball draft (which had to be put on pause), his jeweler dropped off the most beautiful ring his eyes had ever seen. Meanwhile, Trish was at home in Astoria finishing everything up (even cleaning the toilets) before moving from New York to Florida. David had a grand plan to propose in Florida at the pier of our local beach in Pompano, but when he saw the ring he knew he couldn't wait. That night (after Trish had already been sleeping for hours) David came home and woke her up immediately saying that he got her flowers that she had to see at that instant. Trish (slightly confused, with one eye open) went to our completely empty kitchen to smell the flowers. By the time she could turn around, David was down on one knee and of course Trish answered with an immediate "YES"! Then the next day we were off to Florida to start our next chapter together! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you and hope you'll be able to join us at our wedding!
