At the height of the pandemic, David was working as a paramedic and I was working as an ER nurse. We met in the emergency department where I worked. From the start, we bantered, created nicknames, and had inside jokes. David loved these small moments together so much, he convinced his patients to choose my hospital for their care. David would find me no matter where I was in the emergency department. Occasionally David timed his lunch break with mine. I was naive to these efforts, I thought the lunch together and frequent drop-offs to the ER were happenstance. His efforts were not wasted, I adored him. I was the first to invite him to a mutual friend's night out. From there, we were inseparable. We went on many adventures, to the lake, to the river, binging scary movies. It is only now that I know, David minimally enjoys going to the lake or river and minimally enjoys scary movies. These were just continued efforts he made. David was my best friend and someone that I wanted to spend my every moment with, this is true today and for the rest of our days. David proposed on a cliffside in Jenner under the most beautiful sunset. The ocean was so calm and beautiful. Only the spot on cliffs-edge had cell service, we were able to make a few FaceTime calls before the sun completely set. Once back at the car, we had no service for hours. Even as we had dinner at the restaurant, Rivers End, we enjoyed each other's company with no service or wifi. My parents were on a flight when David initially proposed so they hadn’t received word yet of the exciting news! Luckily, the restaurant had a pay phone, so we used the only 2 quarters we could find to call my mom! Currently, David and I are living in a beautiful three-story townhome in Santa Rosa with our two cats, Lady and Ghost. David is working as a Safety Supervisor and will be attending line school in the fall. Line school will allow David to take steps toward becoming a lineman/powerline worker. I am currently working at a local emergency room. We spend our free time with our families or browsing the aisles of Costco. We are so excited to celebrate our love with you all!
