Tonia's Memory: I had a totally different plan. I needed a change in my life. I sold all of the furniture in my apartment and moved back home for a month thinking I was going to move to Arizona. I went to Florida for my cousin's wedding and when I came home it was Fourth of July weekend. I was sitting on the beach down the shore messing around with the dating app, Tinder. At the same time, I was also looking for spa jobs in Arizona. All of sudden, Dave and I both swiped right and connected. We texted all week and then met the next weekend. We met in Morristown at a bar called Revolution. We talked all night and I was interested that we shared very similar Italian family values. It took a few dates for me to realize that I was not going to move to AZ anymore and stay here and give Dave a chance. He made me fall in love with his sparkling blue eyes and his big heart. Dave's Memory: I was playing around with this app called Tinder and came across Tonia's picture. The first thing I remember was seeing Tonia's beautiful face and I remember saying to myself I hope she is interested in me too! Next I saw her strong Italian name and I was thinking to myself I need to meet this girl. Luckily for me, she swiped right too! We texted for about a week until she finally said, so do you want to meet up or what? I was like, geez, that was easy. We met for the first time for drinks in Morristown. For me, it was love at first sight. Besides her beauty, it was her personality that had me. I knew the first night I met her, I was going to marry her.
It's really hard to surprise me, but Dave pulled it off. On May 18,2019, Dave asked me to be his wife and spend the rest of our lives together. He told me that we had dinner plans with his best friend Tommy and his wife Sara in Long Branch, NJ at McLoone's Pier House. I had work all day and was having a bad day, exhausted and moody, which is not like me. I rushed home from work, changed and we headed down the shore. Once we got there, Dave said we had some time to kill and we should take a walk on the beach. It was windy and a little chilly and I was totally against it. After practically begging me to walk on the beach to the water, I am glad I did. Once we got close to the water, Dave got down on one knee and asked me to spend forever with him. When he got down on one knee, I asked him what he was doing and to get up. I was in total shock! Of course I said yes. He totally caught me off guard. Little did I know that my friend Taryn was hiding out on the beach capturing our special moment with lots of pictures and a video. She greeted us with glasses of champagne and then Dave and I went to a beautiful dinner, overlooking the water and the sky was lit up with a full moon. The whole night was amazing and something we will both never forget.💍
