"Serendipity" on the Court: A Pickleball Love Story It was my birthday last year, a day I had expected to celebrate with friends and family, perhaps with a quiet dinner or a casual outing. Little did I know, God had a more enchanting plan in store for me. I arrived at the local pickleball courts, eager for a few rounds of friendly competition. The air was alive with the sound of paddles striking balls and the occasional burst of laughter. Among the familiar faces and cheerful conversations, my heart was instantly drawn to a radiant beauty ----- Sunny. She was effortlessly graceful on the court, her smile as radiant as the midday sun. I couldn't help but be drawn to her energy, the way she moved with a combination of skill and joy that was captivating. As I waited, we finally were paired up for a doubles match. From the moment we exchanged our first words, there was an undeniable connection between us. We laughed at each other's jokes, cheered each other on with every point won, and shared a competitive spirit that only deepened our bond. With each rally, our chemistry grew stronger, fueled by our mutual love for the sport and how much fun we had. Between points, we exchanged stories about our lives, dreams, and aspirations. Time seemed to stand still as we played, oblivious to the world around us, lost in each other's company. As the night came to an end, I realized that she might be the one. I asked Sunny to play pickleball with me again the next day. Little did I know, that encounter would lead to countless more matches, shared laughters, and a deep friendship (and beyond). Looking back now, I cherish that meant-to-be day on the pickleball court—a day that brought Sunny into my life and set our love story in motion. It's a reminder that Jesus writes the best love stories--when we least expect it, in the most unexpected of places, like the pickleball court where our journey together began.
