In the spring of 2016, Staci was convinced by one of her best friends to accompany her to Ring Dance, a formal military ball at the United States Naval Academy. Never having met before or even talked, they were greeted at the gate by David. The rest of the night consisted of dancing, talking, and getting to know each other. 6 years and countless flights, moves, dogs, and memories later, we are happy to be planning to celebrate with the ones we love most.

On a day that was supposed to be all about celebrating David earning his Wings of Gold, and at a BBQ with all of their friends in South Texas, David's family, and Staci's family via Facetime, David gave a toast to those he could not have made it there without. During that toast, he asked Staci if she would join him in San Diego, not as his girlfriend, but as his future wife. That night they celebrated a new chapter together- finishing flight school, an engagement, and their orders to move to the other side of the country!
