We met when a mutual friend asked me to play on a coed softball team that David was currently playing on. We hit it off, pun intended, pretty quickly!
It was like any other Saturday morning. We had spent the morning talking and cooking in the kitchen. I went to put Everlee in the bath, because ya know; syrup and a 2 year old! He asked Alexa to put Cody Johnson on. Which when we first started dating, became some of our favorite love songs. I turned around to go grab something, and he was in the bathroom doorway. He got down on one knee and asked, "Will you marry me?" In all my glory (pajamas, no makeup, and messy bun) I said YES! He had originally planned to surprise me at our baby shower for Kennedy, later that day. After some thought, he decided to do it in a more private setting, which couldn't have been more perfect! We announced our engagement later that evening to family and close friends at the shower/engagement party.
We will be married in the St. Boniface Catholic Church where both my grandparents and great-grandparents were married. Our reception will be in the parish hall. It is here that I have spent many family reunions and Christmas gatherings. It is near and dear to my heart, and David agrees it will make a perfect setting to start our marriage.
