David and Shawna originally met at CT youth group where their families attend church. Years later during a night shift at URVH a friend suggested Shawna find a farm boy because "that's how you find one of the good ones". Shawna joked that her parents neighbor was a farm boy and decided to message him. Their first date was July 16th 2022. After a few dates she realized that friend was right, she did indeed find "one of the good ones".  The real test was getting the approval of her daughter Arianna (aged 3). After a few trips to see the cows, old home week and a lot of cotton candy Ari decided that David was now her best friend.  Then came Grayson, the couples happy go lucky little guy was born January 2025 and completed their little family perfectly.  
 While in PEI visiting family David took Shawna and Grayson for a walk on the beach at sunset. David stopped to take a picture of the sunset over the ocean and Shawna noticed the ring box on Grayson's blanket. That's when David got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Shawna, of course, said YES!
