We met in 2015 while we both worked at SkyZone. We became friends through mutual friends and remained friends through David’s deployment, college activities and other employment opportunities. In 2018, we started dating and quickly realized we had something special but like many love stories, we had falling actions that led to us breaking up and we taking some time to grow as individuals. Fast forward to 2023, we were able to rebuild our friendship and love found its way back to us. Ready to build as partners and support each other through this thing called life (especially with us having 3 surgeries between the both of us, in the first 6 months lol ). Now, we spend our days balancing hectic schedules, binge-watching our favorite shows (sometimes arguing over what to watch next), and saying “yes” to new adventures together. On July 15th, 2024, surrounded by family at dinner, David and ShanToya were upgraded to fiancés. The celebration didn’t stop there… our friends and family waited at a local lounge to celebrate with us, where the night was filled with smiles, laughter, and happy tears. To top it all off, David put our passports to use and planned a surprise vacation to celebrate this new chapter. Where we went zip-lining in the forest, jumped off a cliff and we even swam in a cave with actual bats (because apparently love makes you brave). Our journey hasn’t been perfect, but it’s been perfectly ours; full of laughs, growth, and love that only gets better with time. And now, we can’t wait to continue this our lives as husband and wife!
