Travel Note
You have a few options: - Burlington, VT (BTV). This is the closest airport and is a breeze to fly in and out of but has few direct flights. Once you land, the venue is 50 minutes south of the airport. - Montreal, QC (YUL). The Montreal Airport is a 2.5 hr drive from the venue. This is likely the best location for the Canucks to fly in and out of. If you plan on flying in and out of Montreal and would like to carpool with others, let us know and we'll be happy to help coordinate. - Boston, MA (BOS). Logan is about 3.5 hours from the venue. If you plan on flying in and out of Boston and would like to carpool with others, let us know and we'll be happy to help coordinate.
Travel Note
- From Boston - Around 3.5 hours. We recommend making a pit stop in Woodstock, VT, one of Shannon's favorite little towns! - From NYC - Around 5.5 hours. We recommend making a pit stop in Lake George, NY for gas and ice cream before the final push to Vermont. - From Toronto - Around 7.5 hours. We recommend making pit stops in Kingston, ON - a quaint, quiet town filled with studious Queen's university students - and in Stowe VT, a staple of Vermont cuteness.
Travel Note
Taxis and rideshare apps are limited (to non-existent) in the Waitsfield area. The easiest way to get around will be with a car - either your own or a rental - and by booking accommodation close to the planned bus stops (see custom Google map). If you have any questions, or need help with transportation, please reach out to us!
Travel Note
If you decide to stay longer to make a vacation out of the trip, there are plenty of things to do: - Hiking. There are trails of any difficulty everywhere! The best ones in the area are Mt Abraham (location of the Friday group hike) and if you are willing to drive a bit, Mount Mansfield or Burrows Trail. - Stowe, Vt. It is Vermont in a nutshell. We love it for the town, with its shops and food, but it is also a great base camp for many activities. - Swimming holes. Small pools of blue water that make for great swimming and jumping. We'll be going to Warren Falls on Thursday and Bartlett Falls is far away but also good. - Mountain biking. Rent bikes at Madbush Falls, in Waterbury or in Stowe. Perry Hill near Waterbury has come recommended. - Road biking. You can make your own loop based on Main St (where our venue is located). The trails around Stowe are also well suited for cycling. You'll need to bring your own bike or rent from a shop. - Sugarbush Resort. Activities include disc golf, actual golf and mountain biking (if their lifts aren't being repaired). - Burlington. If you are flying in and out of here, spend some time in town and on Lake Champlain. If you've read this far, text Shannon for a prize.
