FAQs

The Wedding Website of Sage Townsend and David Grudziecki
You mean you have questions about a weekend full of events at multiple different locations with potentially different temperatures at each? Sheesh you're a needy bunch.
Question

Am I expected to go to every event?

Answer

Of course not! We will feel lucky to see you at any and all events you choose to go to, but we don't expect you to join for all of them if there are other things you want to explore while visiting Oregon. Our dream is that everyone falls madly in love with Oregon and moves here, so do whatever you need to do to make that dream come true! We just ask that you RSVP to each event you are planning to attend no later than March 1st, 2026 so we can plan accordingly.

Question

Is there transportation to and from Portland to the ceremony in Cascade Locks?

Answer

We are not planning on having transportation to and from Portland to the ceremony in Cascade Locks. If you would like to come to the ceremony but weren't planning on renting a car, we will do our best to match you with folks who are planning on renting a car and have extra seats available. That being said, please make sure you respond in the RSVP for the ceremony if you need a ride or if you have extra room in your car so we can match people accordingly. If there are enough people that want to join the ceremony without rides to accommodate, we will look at shuttling options to make sure all who want to attend are able to join us.

Question

Will the ceremony and brunch in Cascade Locks be indoors?

Answer

The ceremony and brunch in Cascade Locks are planned to be outdoors, weather permitting. We do not have the option to move the ceremony indoors, but if it is raining and we need to move the brunch indoors we have the option to do so. That said, we recommend bringing rain gear (a rain jacket or umbrella) to the ceremony just in case it rains. Since both of these events are planned to be outdoors, it is also a good idea to bring a jacket if you tend to run cold. The average temperature in Cascade Locks during May is 68 degrees, so I would use that as your best temperature guide until we get closer to the event. There will be some heaters at Gorges Beer Co., but I wouldn't count on those as your only heat source for these events.

Question

What should we expect at Brooklyn Carreta since it's not a private event space?

Answer

We will have a designated area within the indoor bar specific for our group with our own private access to the bar. There will be open tables indoors and outdoors to enjoy your dinner, and then we will be moving some of the indoor tables around to create a dance floor for the latter part of the evening. We will not have assigned seating as we want people to move around, mingle, and enjoy their food and the space at their own pace. We will make sure to have a coat rack available to hold your coats and purses, but ask that you pack light as you won't have a designated seat to drop your stuff off and leave it there for the evening. While we do have designated space for our group, you can also use any of the non-designated space that isn't occupied by other Brooklyn Carreta guests, including the pool table, outdoor restrooms, and heated + covered outdoor patio.

Question

Will there be parking at each of the venues?

Answer

There is plenty of parking available at Thunder Island, Gorges Beer Co., The People's Courts, the park we'll be hosting the Sunday picnic, and the trailhead for Monday's hike. There is limited parking at Brooklyn Carreta, so we recommend taking a Lyft or Uber to and from the reception.

Question

Will there be an after party following the reception?

Answer

Unofficially, yes. After the reception at Brooklyn Carreta for those that want to keep the party going we will likely find ourselves at Birdie Time or The Good Foot. Who knows, maybe we'll even end the night at White Owl Social Club if we really want to take a walk down memory lane.

Question

What will the vibe be for the weekend?

Answer

The results are in and the vibe will be play all day everyday. We're talking nostalgic summer camp vibes mixed with running through wildflower fields and a healthy amount of pants off dance off (although we do encourage keeping your pants on the whole weekend).
