It was May of 2012, and the spring semester of classes just ended at UNM. David was living near the university at a popular complex called "Lobo Village". Although I was not living their, I had a handful of friends who lived there, so I was hanging out there pretty often. It was a warm Sunday afternoon and my friends and I decided to lounge at the pool at Lobo Village. David and his friends had the same idea as they were also relaxing by the pool and throwing around a Frisbee. It was when the Frisbee landed by me that I decided to pick it up and throw it back to the group of guys playing with it. David caught the Frisbee and smiled back. He was a little shy and did not introduce himself right away. However, after some time went by, with more smiling at each from across the pool, I finally approached David and introduced myself. I thought David was so funny and charming! We had a lot in common and I was excited to potentially hang out again. After an hour or so went by, it became time to leave the pool. Renee told David she worked at a frozen yogurt shop down the street from UNM and that he should come visit her there sometime if he wanted to. About 3 days later, David showed up at the frozen yogurt shop and it was history from there! After a few weeks of going on dates and getting to know each other, David asked me to be his girlfriend. Fast forward to 6 and a half years later, we are engaged and living in Colorado. I think God had pretty great plans in store for us the entire time.
