Our Story

It all started with a simple question: "How adventurous are you?" Reilly answered "seven." On December 23rd, 2022, they met for the first time over coffee at Halcyon in Dallas, and what was meant to be a casual first date turned into a full day together Christmas shopping. When they went to wrap Christmas presents, Reilly confirmed with David that he had wrapping paper. But what David did not specify was that the wrapping paper was a stack of old newspapers, which is fun when you start with the comic section and less cheerful when you get to the headlines. David made good on the question "how adventurous are you?" when he asked Reilly if she wanted to leave on a ski trip in two days. They packed up and hit the road. Driving 14 hours through the winter landscape, bound for the snow-capped mountains of Crested Butte, Colorado. Reilly knew David was the one as soon as she saw him finish almost an entire pizza from The Stache and then hit 40+ miles an hour skiing down the mountain. The adventures haven't stopped since. From the streets of Paris to the beaches of Puerto Rico, the vineyards of Sonoma to Boston Harbor, Reilly and David have built their relationship one trip at a time; with Atlanta, Milan, Munich, Austin, Denver, Lake Garda, New York, Portsmouth, Kennebunkport, and Rosemary Beach along the way. What makes these trips special isn't just the adventure. David and Reilly have been incredibly blessed to share these times with their friends. But as much as they love to explore the world together, their favorite place will always be home. In Dallas, David has become a fixture in Reilly's family, earning a special place in the hearts of her youngest brothers, Caleb, Parker, and James. And Reilly has found a second family in David's, falling in love with the warmth and closeness that defines their holiday traditions, from their larger-than-life Thanksgivings to the Christmas celebrations she now looks forward to as her own. When David proposed to Reilly, it was a full day of callbacks to their favorite memories. Most significantly, he wrapped the first gift of the day in newspaper. Specifically, the newspaper his father purchased the day his older sister, Sarah, was born. Reilly and David's relationship has been defined by these kinds of thoughtful gestures, as well as the small ways they show they love each other every day. They cannot wait for the lifetime together to come, and feel like the luckiest couple in the world to celebrate with such amazing friends and family. See you all August 8th!
