Like many modern romances, ours began with a simple message that turned into hours of conversation, laughter, and a spark that our intuitions innately understood. Since that fateful day, we've navigated long distance, become parents to the fluffiest third wheel, and created stories worth retelling throughout the world. Those memories aside, we're perhaps most proud to have created a chosen family — friends who have become siblings, mentors, and soulmates in their own right. As queer people, this community is at the core of our lives, reminding us every day that love is not only found; but built, nurtured, and shared. After many discussions about what our future entails, we opted to propose to each other after a solo weekend retreat in the Texas Hill Country. After a day on the lake with our son, as the sunset bathed us in warm light, we tearfully asked the other to grow old together. We are so thankful to know a love like ours and intend for our wedding to not only be a celebration; but, a tribute to the journey we’ve shared, the family we’ve created, and the future that awaits.
