Bride
My name is Melissa, and I am the bride :) A product of Simi Valley, I am a true small town girl. As far as education goes, I attended UCLA, and CLU. My hobbies include competitive running, traveling, and eating. When I’m not doing those things, I am busy teaching 4th graders. I LOVE my job! When I’m not working or running, I enjoy curling up on the couch watching a movie (or Dodger game). Below are a few of my favorites :) David and I met as teammates at CLU. He is an incredible friend and partner. He is someone I can confide in and someone with whom I share all of my hobbies, especially running! He is supportive and everyone loves him! I could not imagine doing life without him! Favorites: Food: burritos Movie: Forrest Gump Music: anything 60’s Place: Monterey Aquarium
Groom
I am David. I am from the greatest city on earth, Arroyo Grande, CA. I met Melissa in college where we ran together and had a class together. We didn't start dating until 4 years later right as I was graduating and she was finishing the teaching credential program. I like to run, mountain bike, golf and do other outdoor things. I am very lucky that my wife to be is very fast so we run together almost every day.
Maid of Honor
Kristina is my (Melissa’s) sister and MOH. Kristina has been a constant support in my life. I looked up to her as a child, often stealing her toys and clothes 😬🤗 Kristina paved the way for me. She inspired me to run cross country and become a teacher, following in her footsteps. I am so lucky to have her as a sister and a best friend.
Groomsman
Blake and I became friends my junior (his sophomore) year at AGHS while running cross country and track. We had many workouts and 800 meter races to bond.
Bridesmaid
Hillary and I met in the teacher prep program at Cal Lutheran University. Hillary always knows how to make me laugh and is one of the first people I will text when I need advice. She is the day man to my night man. Day man, aaaaah aaaah!
Groomsman
I met Sage in 3rd grade at Ocean View Elementary school. At 8 years old we were already both in love with sports. We became friends pretty quickly when we were on the same basketball team in 4th grade.
Bridesmaid
Alyssa and I met at Cal Lutheran during the teacher prep program. Alyssa is one of the kindest friends I know. She is so patient and will always take the time to listen. She is a great friend til the end, who will always share some pizza and ranch dressing with me.
Groomsman
I met John when he was a small freshman on the Arroyo Grande cross country team. We raced together a lot before we both got the call up to varsity. I once took part in shaving a line down the middle of John's head.
Bridesmaid
Rochelle “Shelly” and I met during the teacher prep program at Cal Lutheran. Shelly is a loyal friend who always has my back. She is the life of the party and I always have the best time when I’m around her. My favorite memory is when we rode bikes around Denver and switched shirts because I was getting sun burnt haha . She is supportive of my silliness and is always down to laugh :)
Groomsman
John and I became friends when we would discuss Call of Duty during long runs at Arroyo Grande high school. John brings enough energy for everyone to whatever he does.
Bridesmaid
Meghan and I have been friends for 10 years now. We met while running cross country and track as freshman attending UCLA. We had a lot of fun quoting the Grinch, Shrek 3, and Dumb and Dumber. Though the laughter, she was also there for me during my first breakup and through heartache. She will always be my friend!
Groomsman
Joey was a freshman on the Arroyo Grande cross country team my senior year. I don't know why we are friends. We all hazed him, but he's tougher for it. I love Joey.
Bridesmaid
Kelcie and I met running cross county and track together at UCLA. A fellow Simi Valleyian, we spent the summer training together, eating John’s Bagels, and going to Disneyland. A 5th year when I was a freshman, she showed me how to navigate college life. A forever friend!
Groomsman
Ryan is one of my older brothers. We have spent a lot of time together hiking through Arches National Park and Yosemite carrying all of Dad's stuff for him.
Bridesmaid
Carina is my future sister-in-law! Carina helped shape David into a great man. Because of Carina, David knows how to braid my hair if I’m ever in a hair emergency haha. I had so much fun getting to know Carina better during our trip to New York. She is full of ambition, fun to be around, and I can’t wait for us to be family. P.S. Look out for Carina on Broadway! 🎭
Groomsman
Eddie is my oldest brother. I was the ring bearer at his wedding 20 something years ago and now he is one of my groomsmen.
