Maid of Honor
Amy and I met my sophomore year of college (her freshman year) through mutual friends in Campus Outreach. We didn't really become friends until we were going to a bible study dinner and I forced myself to ride one-on-one in her car where both of us really let our true selves out. We had an inseparable friendship after that semester, and my college experience would be a lot more boring without her. Amy has the kindest heart and will always step in to help when needed. She is also one of the most trustworthy people I know, which makes her the best kind of friend to have. As an added bonus, we got to live together in Greenville for the past year with another friend and bridesmaid--Morghan.
Best Man
I met Blake the first day of junior year of college as we both ended up as partners in one of our classes. Blake and I went from classmates to best friends in no time and not only did we crush that project, but continued to work on projects together in every class we had together at JMU! Blake got down to Charlotte first and was a big reason I moved down 6 years ago. We've gone from classmates to best friends who also lived & worked together on the same team at our company! Throughout the last 9 years, Blake has been a true friend/brother/confidante, there for each other during the best and worst of times. Best friends like Blake come along maybe a couple times in a persons life and I'm so glad I have him in mine.
Maid of Honor
Maggie is one of my oldest friends from Southside Christian, and I don't honestly remember a point in life not knowing her. While we weren't always in the same class every year, we were definitely in the same friend group. With how small SCS was (got to love private school life) you got close with your circle. I could always count on Maggie for a good dad joke and a kind heart anytime anyone needed something. Fast forward to college, and we had the fun opportunity of living together freshman year at Clemson, where the memories and fun times continued. I will forever be thankful for Maggie and our lifelong friendship!
Best Man
Will and I first met almost 17 years ago on a Father/Son Church Camping trip. Though our first interaction involved me confronting him angrily about eating my pop-tarts, we ended up becoming fast friends as we got older! Whether it was youth group retreats or running around aimlessly in Charlottesville, we would always have the best time. Will is the quietly funny guy, always ready with a joke and always coming up with the most interesting questions. He always keeps me laughing and we always feed off each others goofiness. No matter how long it's been, Will and I always pick up right where we left off! I'm lucky to have a best friend & brother like Will, he's definitely one in a million.
Bridesmaid
My friendship with Morghan may not be as long as some of the others in the bridal party, but I have had the blessing of having her as my longest roommate (as she would most likely remind you of) and fast friend. I didn't know how we would initially be as friends, being thrust together as roommates, and me being as introverted as I am. Very quickly, Morghan broke down my walls and I felt comfortable (in record time for me) with her being one of my closest friends. Morghan is a great listener in any situation, but also provides some of the best advice and encouragement whenever needed. If you do not know her, you are truly missing out.
Groomsman
I've known Caleb since I was 10 years old and let me tell you, he's one amazing friend! Our families met at church and from there we had home groups, hoe downs, 4th of July parades and more sleepovers than I could count. Though our tastes in movies/music/style varied throughout the years, our friendship stayed the same, with much teasing on my movie choices & his metal music car rides. We were together through community college & JMU and even though graduation took us to separate locations we will still reconnect like nothing has changed! Caleb is the epitome of wit and is always cracking a joke, trust me you'll be laughing too. I'm pumped to add yet another chapter to our lifelong friendship!
Bridesmaid
When I think of my friendship with Amanda, it makes me smile from ear to ear. We met in a freshman bible study with Campus Outreach, led by the most insane mentor (iykyk). With as much time as we spent together that year, I quickly felt like she was one of my closest friends, even after a short period of time. The two following summers, both of us attended Leadership Project in Myrtle Beach, SC. If you haven't heard one of us talk about it, you should ask us to explain, because it is a growing experience beyond the amount of words I can use in this description. Every semester at Clemson grew our friendship more and more, and seeing Amanda's heart for all those around her assured me that we would be friends for life. Amanda has a huge heart for the Lord and for animals, and while vet school separated us a few years ago, that was as good an excuse as any to make annual road trips to Athens, GA. While we still do not live in the same states, I can always count on her for a Facetime or phone call date.
Groomsman
I met Brayden shortly after he joined Red Ventures and it didn't take long for us to become fast friends! Through lots of desk conversations, work lunches and many bags of Skittles later, he became one of my closest buddies in Charlotte. Since then we have continued to bond over our love of books, bourbon and the Bad Boys movie trilogy. Brayden & his awesome wife, Nicole, have been such steadfast friends over the past several years, always hosting me for dinner catch-ups & sharing in the ups and downs of life. They were some of the first people I first told about Mary Catherine and have been such huge supporters of our relationship from the start. I'll tell you that friends like Brayden don't come around all that often, he has been a true brother in every way and I obviously couldn't do it without him up there with me on the big day #BadBoysForLife!
Bridesmaid
I have known Shay for the shortest amount of time out of this group, but that does not mean that our friendship is any less valuable. When David and I started dating, he told me about one of his best friends--Shay. You never know how it will be meeting your significant other's friends, and honestly I was nervous I would not make the best first impression to someone so important to him. Those nerves proved to be unfounded, as I felt welcomed by her and her husband Tomas instantly. It was cool as well, because I got to see how true of a friend David was by hearing Shay speak about him. They also live in Raleigh, which has very quickly become a city that will always have a special place in my heart, as it is where David and I got engaged and had a surprise engagement party. I know that Shay now will always be a friend for life.

When I first met Tomas, I was unsure if we would get along! I had been his now wife, Shayna's, best friend for so long, however I couldn't have been more wrong, Tomas and I hit it off immediately. As Shay & Tomas's relationship grew, so did our friendship! I was honored to be apart of their wedding as Man of Honor and a few short years after, get to be there as Uncle David to their sweet son. They were the first friends I introduced Mary Catherine too and they have been with us through every major milestone in our relationship (Our first I love you, our engagement & hosting our engagement party) primarily since they all happened in their neighborhood outside of Raleigh. I'm so grateful to be able to count Tomas among my best friends.

My friendship with Callie is the most unique one in this group as it is the only one that is two-fold. I got to know Callie in a choral group at Southside Christian. There were lots of fun times had in that class, as well as on Fine Arts tours. It was a small all-girls group--along with Maggie and Rayanne--which meant there were plenty of times that actual conversations as well. It was around that time as well that she started to date my brother, James. That is how our friendship became two-fold, because I got to continue my friendship with her long after high school graduation. I have loved getting to see their relationship blossom, and feel like I have a sister in her. In another ironic twist, she now resides in Charlotte, where I occasionally see her when visiting David.
Groomsman
Coming from a family of 6 siblings you would think that meeting Mary Catherine's one brother wouldn't be so nerve-racking right? Well the first time I met James at the Tipsy Taco on Woodruff Road, I was definitely nervous. I wondered if I would earn the sibling blessing or not, I mean the pressure was on with just the one sibling. However, our first interaction went so well and every subsequent time we've spent together I've gotten to know more and more of James and he's definitely become a brother & friend. He was also a trooper when I awkwardly called him to ask for his blessing to marry Mary Catherine and for some reason I couldn't stop talking in circles before he finally said, "David, just ask the question already!!". I can tell you firsthand that James is incredibly smart, a loyal friend, devoted son & boyfriend and one heck of a brother to his older sister. I can also tell you that I'm very lucky to have him as a future brother-in-law.
Bridesmaid
Anna is one of David's sisters, and actually the first of his family members that I met. During my spring break last year, we travelled to Dallas to visit with her and her husband Cesar. Again, nerves arose knowing I was meeting someone extremely important to David, and again those nerves were quickly shot down. From our arrival at the airport, we were laughing and cutting up almost instantly and I felt comfortable and loved from that moment. It was just James and I growing up, so I never knew what it was like to have sisters before this past year. Seeing how close her and David were and are has left me feeling nothing short of extremely blessed to be a part of an entire family's life, not just the life of my significant other.
Groomsman
When I first met Cesar in person he had actually just proposed to my sister! But rewinding a bit, he had called me prior to asking to ask for my blessing as Anna’s older brother and I knew then that this guy was going to be a welcome addition to our family, I just didn't know how much. I always joked with Anna that I wanted her husband/my future brother-in-law to be one of my closest friends and hoped we'd have similar interests. Well it would seem God has a sense of humor, giving Anna an incredibly loving husband and me an incredible brother. Cesar and I are two peas in a pod when it comes to our love of Marvel movies, shopping & almost everything Tom Ford, hence why we always somehow "got assigned" each other’s gifts for Lafferty Secret Santa. I had the privilege of getting to stand with him when he married my little sister, and I knew when the day came for me I wanted him up there with me as well and here we are!
Bridesmaid
B is one of the most genuine friends a person can have, and our friendship has grown so much over the years. I met her during my second Leadership Project, and forced my way into her heart because she lived in Amy's room that summer. With her being from Greenville, it also made it easier to continue my friendship with her outside of college since we lived a maximum of 20 minutes away from each other. B is the best at encouragement and pulling you out of the dark places, as her personality provides a light to anyone she interacts with. I felt a deep trust in my friendship early on with her, and felt like I could always be myself around her. B is one of the best, and I would highly recommend getting to know her.

When I first met Ryan, I was sitting across the table from him in his interview to join our team at Red Ventures. Little did I know that he would actually end up being my first direct report. Though we both were new to our roles, we hit it off quickly and our friendship quickly developed! Since then, Ryan has been an incredible friend over the years and always down for any sort of adventure/shenanigan, even if it's just grabbing Chick-fil-a for dinner and talking. Ryan is always available to lend a listening ear when needed and has always had my back with suggestions for my fantasy draft (even when I don't listen and draft Cooper Kupp anyways). His love for both Mary Catherine and I, despite her Clemson allegiance, has been so evident throughout our relationship and I'm so glad to have him apart of our day.
Bridesmaid
Caroline is another friend from the Southside Christian crew, and I’ve known her since about 3rd grade. We bonded over our love of sarcasm and education and we have been really close, despite different colleges and world travels. Throughout the years I have seen her consistency of friendship, no matter what physical obstacle separated us, and whenever we get together it is as if no time has passed. Caroline is someone you can always have the best time with and will make you feel seen and heard no matter who you are. You can also always count on her for a bomb artistic or creative project.
Groomsman
I actually met Chris through Ryan shortly after Chris had moved down to Charlotte and he immediately became a permanent addition to our group! Over the past few years, Chris and I have spent more time hanging out, usually grabbing a beer for happy hour or ordering a quick dinner after a long day of work. Chris constantly impresses me with his innate skill as a business owner of Legacy Concrete & Decorative, and despite me not even having a home to even put a patio on, I still hold first place as the most enthusiastic "client" he's ever had! Chris has been a true friend & brother over these past few years and I've come to rely on his steady calm and advice. When you get to a certain stage in life, it's not how long the person has been there, but the impact they have on your life that matters. Chris has made a big impact on my life and I'm honored to have him stand with me as a groomsman.
Bridesmaid
Rayanne is another friend in which I cannot remember truly meeting her, more that we have just always been friends. From the very early days of Southside Christian, Rayanne was always a solid confidante and friend in our little group. We had the best memories I think in our high school French classes, where many people questioned if we did anything productive in that class. We also were in the same section of the all-girls choral group, and Fine Arts Tour trips are really where true bonding happens. Though we went to separate colleges, I love that we were able to reconnect after college with us both living in Greenville. Rayanne has always been somebody I could count on, either for an encourager and advice-giver, or for a genuine belly laugh. No matter how you look at it, she is overall the best kind of friend.
Groomsman
When I first met Michael we were at our team's Christmas party years ago. Even though his wife Gigi was my coworker and one of my closest friends, we hit it off immediately that night! From that point on, Michael was instantly part of our Red Ventures crew and we invited him everywhere! Even though some of our interests couldn't be more different, take his love of baseball & all things sports for instance, we have an easy-going friendship that I couldn't be more grateful for. Michael's emphasis on quality time makes him one of the best people in my life, as he constantly shows up for anyone & any event in his circle. He's a great coach, awesome husband to Gigi, soon to be Dad to a baby boy, and great dog dad to Beaux, in many ways, I look up to Michael. He reminds me to try new things, never fails to include me (even if it's sports related) and has the best sense of humor. As far as friends go, everyone should have a Michael and I'm blessed I get to have him not just as a groomsman, but as a lifelong friend.
