Wedding Party

You may think twenty-six is a large number, and you would be right.

John Michael Hoyt

Best Man

Fastest crane operator in the Midwest and always handy with a knife. Roomie for three seasons in the bay. A man among men. A man of zeal.

Kateri Kuplic

Matron of Honor

Always one step ahead in everything (except getting up in the morning) Kateri's the best big sister around. Iconic duo of iconic duos, people asked questions if they did anything individually. Longest roommate and dearest confidant; watch out for their telepathic powers.

Peter Kogut

Groomsman

The firstborn. A true maverick. Often mistaken for David's father. Pete stayed around another year when David was born so that he would know who his oldest brother was.

Annie Schmidt

Bridesmaid

Prides herself on being the funniest Schmidt, her wit is as sharp as her well-trimmed quill. Avid writer, artist, and reading enthusiast.

Michael Kogut

Groomsman

Taught David how to appreciate certain things of culture such as Jurassic Park, Star Wars cards, and quality beer. One of David's favorite childhood activities included shooting rubberbands at Mike while he played drums.

Gianna Schmidt

Bridesmaid

It's like watching Maggie grow up a second time only she's taller, funnier, and more athletic. Eager to not be left behind as the youngest Schmidt, Gianna is wise beyond her years. Watch out; she can probably lift more than you.

Bol Duot

Groomsman

While babysitting David, Bol had to put up with pencils being stuck his afro. Even still, he graciously taught David his many soccer skills.

Carly Zimmerman

Bridesmaid

Basically, she's the fifth Schmidt sister. From family vacations to high school sports, Maggie's best childhood memories include Carly. Fiercely loyal and ever-stylish, watch this girl slay the dance floor when "Thriller" comes on.

Joseph Kogut

Groomsman

Growing up, Joe generously allowed young David to play paintball with him and his friends. (Maybe as an easy target?). Joe is a man of can-do, and one of the only other Kogut men who can properly make pierogi.

Gretta Utecht

Bridesmaid

Ever the instigator behind high school adventures. She was the first to call out Maggie's fancy for David, long before Maggie realized it herself. Ask her about planes.

James Diing

Groomsman

Just last year, David realized that James had really let him win their wrestling matches circa 2000. It's rare to catch him without his infectious smile.

Angela Hagen

Bridesmaid

In 2015, Angie and Maggie took on Detroit, exploring abandoned buildings and learning how to live on their own for the first time. More recently, their conversations surround the good the bad and the ugly of being a nurse.

Thomas Schmidt

Groomsman

We originally asked him to be the flower girl, but the nieces were cuter. Any fencing skills he's got he learned from battles fought with Maggie. The kid's got heart.

Marie DeMarais

Bridesmaid

Holds the medal for being roomies with Maggie the longest (bar sisters, of course). She cheered Maggie through nursing school. Although they became pals in Michigan, they are both ready to tell you why Minnesota is the best state in the U.S.

Isaac Schmidt

Groomsman

A master of cribbage, second only to David. He appreciates the finer things in life such as baking and football.

Cristina Young

Bridesmaid

Known for her "chill" factor, Cristina keeps Maggie's high-strung tendencies in check. She'll be the first to serve you and the last to take credit. Fellow transplant far away from family, Cristina has remained one of Maggie's dearest Lansing friends.

Ryan Kogut

Groomsman

Dave's cousin and childhood accomplice in all manners of shenanigans. They once spent an entire weekend up at the cabin playing nothing but monopoly. Needless to say, their relationship survived this cutthroat game, and there were no hard feelings.

Rosie Gjengdahl

Bridesmaid

On more than one occasion, they spent their middle-school sleepovers cleaning and organizing closets. Growing up she pushed Maggie out of her comfort zone by staging dance performances to "Boogie Wonderland". They still share a love for tidy spaces.

Caolan Keenan

Groomsman

A steadfast friend from the beginning, he's the only red head of the groomsmen who's not a Kogut. Don't let this big Irishman fool ya; deep down he's a true country boy.

Bekah Grundhoefer

Bridesmaid

The steadiest of friends, Bekah is repeatedly reminding Maggie of the importance of slowing down. Their visits center around soul-searching conversation and reflections on the simultaneous futility and beauty of life.

Stephen Giles

Groomsman

Shares in David's love for the outdoors. He's 100% into whatever he's doing. As children, they concussed each other often while jumping on the trampoline.

Emily Giles

Bridesmaid

Maggie's first roommate in Lansing, urban planner Emily can convince you that even Lansing is a cool city. Along with mastering the art of prank wars, they spent their collegiate years together fostering a turtle. They challenge each other in creativity and who can be the most type-A.

Garrett Hedin

Groomsman

Stuck it through high school with Dave only to form a bond that could never be broken. Not afraid to do his own thing, Garrett is a true Renaissance man.

Elisha Miranda

Bridesmaid

Straight outta California, Elisha does not share Maggie's love of the north. She does, however, share her passion for youth work and delight in authentic conversation. She was around for Michigan year one and shared in the strife of learning adulthood.

Jacob Stoll

Groomsman

Lived with David his first year of college; a very formative experience for both of them... He's always ready to stay up with you for a deep conversation, and a bonfire will never die under his watch.

Cecilia Harvey

Bridesmaid

At first it may have seemed the unlikeliest of friendships. Cecilia's the most creative friend encouraging Maggie to be less boring. They shaved their heads together.
