Believe it or not, we met on Match.com. David contacted me via Match messenger. He was hesitant because he wasn't in my height requirement (I USED to prefer taller men - like 5'10"+). But, he figured, what the heck, she has dogs and if nothing else I can make a new friend. When he first sent me a message, I responded right away, letting him know if he wanted to meet me it had to be soon, as I was canceling my subscription. I had been on there for almost 3 months and hadn't met anyone. And he did just that! I think we met within a day or two of that message. David wanted to pick me up from my place to go to the park with my dogs. But I told him I only meet at a public place for the first time. Explaining he could be a serial killer or something!! So we agreed to meet the next day at Point Pinole. I was to bring my girls and he was to bring dinner. David brought some yummy burritos. Little did I know he got them from a customer, so he got buy 1 get one free. Now some of you might think that is terrible, but I don't. First of all - they were delicious! Second, why spend a lot of money on a date that you aren't sure will work out? You are there to get to know each other. We had our burritos and played with the pups. Then went for a walk along the bay. David also brought his camera and took lots of pictures. It was very casual and great. The evening was winding down, but I wanted it to continue. It was a Thursday night, which was karaoke at Pete's Place (now Chuck's Corner) in Pinole. I asked him if he had other plans for the evening and he said no. I told him of my plans, but that would mean he would or could come over to my place until karaoke started. His response was funny - "So I guess I am not a serial killer?" (I laughed) It was very clear he was a gentleman. We hung out at my place for a couple of hours, as karaoke didn't start until 9 pm. We had a great time - and been together ever since. (More to the story - so please ask).
