FAQs

Question

Can I have my dog at the wedding ceremony?

Answer

Yosemite has certain environmental rules to keep you and the environment safe and closest to it's natural form without human intervention for that reason pets are not allowed at any wedding ceremony. Rules will be enforced by an attending park ranger.

Question

Why is there a Park ranger at the Ceremony?

Answer

A Park Ranger monitor will be on site during your event to oversee your wedding activity, to ensure permit conditions are adhered to and assist with visitor activity surrounding your event.

Question

Can I bring a chair to the Ceremony?

Answer

Chairs, tables or other furniture are not allowed at the wedding site. Consideration is given to those with specific or special needs. There will be concrete steps to sit on pictured in this link (http://www.rhaa.com/index.php/projects/detail/57)

Question

Can I Drive to the Ceremony?

Answer

All vehicles (including motorcycles) must be parked in designated areas only, no off-road traffic. Carpooling is recommended. Shuttle (drop off) service, or carpooling is highly recommended. Local bus tour services include Yosemite Close Up Tours in Mariposa, CA, Discover Yosemite or Crossroads Tours in Oakhurst, CA, and Yosemite Private Tours in Ahwahnee, CA.

Question

What time should we leave for the ceremony Sunday Morning?

Answer

During the summer, traffic in Yosemite may be extremely backed up and it can take up to two-three hours or more (additional time) on busy weekend days to reach any given location. Valley sites and Glacier Point are the most congested. Traffic may be heavy during the week as well although not as problematic. Please ensure you and your guests understand that it’s best to begin traveling well in advance of the event. I’d suggest adding at least 3 hours to your travel time on weekends.

Question

Do I have to pay to get into Yosemite National Park?

Answer

Park entrance fee is $30 per vehicle. I suggest renting cars or vans together so you can car pool and split the costs. The $30 entrance fee is good for a 7 day pass! So you can come and go for your entire stay for just $30! You will have to pay this before you arrive at your accommodations at The Redwoods in Yosemite since these accommodations are inside the boundaries or the park.
